چکیده

Journal of Systematics and Evolution (JSE) established Awards JSE Outstanding Papers in 2014 to recognize the most significant research published a specific year (Ge & Wen, 2015). Since 2015, has awarded papers each two categories (two each): by Young Investigators. The selection awards was based on votes assessments from all 17 editors journal with consideration citation data Thomson Reuters Web Science impact systematics evolution. First authors who received their Ph.D. degree within 7 years are eligible for Investigators′ Awards. winners receive certificate prize $800 (JSE Papers) or $500 Investigators). Here we delighted announce four selected publications 2019 highlight significance these below. 2019: Rabah et al.: Passiflora plastome sequencing reveals widespread genomic rearrangements. As largest genus Passifloraceae, L. consists over 565 species high diversified habits such as vines, lianas, shrubs, small trees, includes many economically important that cultivated worldwide (Rabah al., 2019). Previous studies detected remarkable differences plastomic changes this included one several lineages have highly rearranged plastomes. Despite these, knowledge about organization remains limited. In study, al. (2019) completed assembly sequences 15 representing three subgenera found plastomes had experienced multiple independent shared inversions, gene intron losses, IR expansion contraction, which resulted distinct subgenera. Remarkably, show subgenus being unique terms content, order, size. findings conjunction previous reports other species, demonstrate importance using rare phylogenetic reconstruction caution, because events can occur independently different may be unreliable characters. Martin-Bravo A tale success: Behind scenes Carex (Cyperaceae) biogeography diversification. sedge roughly 2000 nearly cosmopolitan distribution is among angiosperm genera world. They revealed originated late Eocene eastern Asia suggested both cradle museum Later synchronous during Oligocene, is, “out-of-Asia” colonization features asymmetric dispersals clustered toward present times Northern Hemisphere regions, major regions acting source sink (especially North America), well into Southern Hemisphere. some interesting questions regarding why diversity apportioned it across globe remain answered, results arising work provide new insights understanding genus, serving foundation subsequent analyses patterns mechanisms globe. Investigators Medina Phylogenomic delineation Physcomitrium (Bryophyta: Funariaceae) targeted nuclear exons flanking regions. Funariaceae diverse family more than 250 annual mosses constitute an appropriate case study analyze recurrent morphological reversals underwent rapid exhibiting variable sporophyte complexities. This assessed relationships five taxa reduced sporophytes 648 loci.
